Yes, I am a slacker. Have not posted anything since December. Hopefully you have not given up on us just yet. This winter has proved to be the winter full of sickness. First time the girls have gone to school + germs from 25 other children = one of our children being sick every week. We have just finished dealing with 3 children all with double ear infections for the last three weeks. Jack's was so bad, they gave him injections of antibiotics over a three day period. I think we are all healthy at the moment (probably shouldn't even say it).
Riley is scheduled to have tubes put in her ears sometime in May. She has had eight ear infections since October and many of them have not gone away. I actually think it is affecting her hearing. She is now saying "what" constantly. She is our strong willed child with the alpha dog personality, but at the same time, who can resist her smile, laughter, and hugs. When she is sweet, she is sweet! When she is bad, oh is she bad!
Jocelyn is our laid back, go with the flow, loves everyone child. She does have a bit of a temper. How could she not with two parents with tempers. She has only had 3 ear infections, so hopefully she will miss the fun of having tubes. Jocelyn has become the hula hoop queen. I don't think I have ever seen a 3.5 year old who can hula hoop like this child. She is amazing.
Both girls LOVE and let me repeat...LOVE school. They are all about learning right now. They can identify all of the letters (upper and lower), and all of their numbers through 12. They can spell their names and the names of family members. They want to know the sounds of their letters and it becomes a game as to who can guess the letter sound. They love to do crafts or projects and bake. Just the other day, we made cupcakes at 8:30 in the morning. They can button buttons and they want to tie their shoes, but I think that is going to take awhile. They are completely potty trained at night and love to take care of their little brother. In the fall, the will start preschool 5 days a weeks for 3 hrs a day.
As for Jack, he is a wild man. He is 13 months old. He loves to climb and we have had quite a few bloody lips to prove it. He is walking and would love to be running. I have a feeling that will be coming shortly. He wants to do everything his sisters are doing. He has slowed done on his size which I assumed would happen when he started moving and grooving. He is 31 inches tall and weighs 24.5 pounds. He can say mommy, da da, and dog. He waves (not all the time) and LOVES to be outside. He stands by the door and cries when you bring him inside. He has eight teeth and is starting to bite when he gets frustrated. Oh no, another child with a temper. Overall, the child is a joy and so happy.
